Made By A Toddler - Flag Canvas

Memorial Day is this coming weekend. I'm ready for sales, BBQ's & good company. And with every holiday that passes, I like to do crafts centered around it with lil man. By just looking at the title of this post, you can guess, this flag canvas was created by my son. What can I say? My toddler is crafty like his mama!

And I'm not saying this craft can only be done by a toddler. Honestly, everyone can do it! Saying a toddler can, just proves ANYONE can craft this up. No excuses, are you ready to learn how?
The supplies are simple. All you need is a plain white canvas, paint {red, white & blue} painter's tape and paint brushes.

Not to mention you will need a cute kid to help complete the project.

{Be sure to have baby wipes near by for easy paint cleanup, as well as changing into "play clothes" in case paint gets everywhere.}
First you will want to tape out your flag design. If you want your lines to all be the same, grab a ruler & make marks with a pencil.
You will want to put your red paint down first. So be sure to tape out the section that will be blue.
Squirt some paint on a plate and hand it over to your child. {Can you tell my toddler was excited?} Tell them to cover the entire canvas with red paint. They can use their hands, paint brushes, sponges...etc. They will love the challenge!
After they cover the entire canvas, let dry completely before doing anything.
Once it's dry, have your child help you peel off the painter's tape.
Now you will want to tape off the section where the blue paint will go.
Very carefully, paint that section blue. {I did this part to make sure no blue paint got anywhere else}

Once the paint is dry, peel off the tape. You will want to add the hand-print next.

Paint your child's hand white & ask them to press it on the blue area. Paint some stars to really fill it in. {If you get a really big canvas, you could do the whole family's hand-print or multiple children handprints}

Let it dry completely and you are done!

Display proudly. Canvas can be hung on the wall or put a ribbon the back & display on your door like a wreath. Don't forget to add your child's name/age on the back.

What fun Memorial Day crafts do you have planned this year? Remember this can be done for 4th of July too!

Clothespin Painting {Toddler Craft}

Who knew painting with some ordinary supplies, would turn into such fun? My son had hours of fun with this Clothespin Painting Toddler Craft.

Clothespin Painting {Toddler Craft}

And remember how I shared our "Balloon Painting" adventure the other day? This craft is a similar concept.

The supplies are probably already in your home and this little post will give you the inspiration you need to get started. Plus you can turn it into a learning lesson along the way. {I'll share more of that towards the end}
Clothespin Painting {Toddler Craft}
The supplies will make you say "Shut-the-front-door!" All you need is clothepins, pom poms, paint & paper. Simple right? And if you don't have pom poms, cotton balls or pieces of sponge work too. You could even switch it up every time you do this craft, so it becomes something new each time.

As for what to do? Just gasp your pom poms in the clothespin and have your child dip them in the paint, then on the paper, making whatever design they want.

This craft is so easy, that anyone can pull it off. You say your not crafty? No excuses. One does not need to be crafty to put this together.

As for the learning lessons I mention above....have your child match the color pom poms to the matching paint color. With a little imagination, you can also turn it into several other games. Have them create caterpillars or make dots in the shape of ABC's. Also toddlers can learn how to gasp with the clothespins through this craft.

And the best part? Clean up is a breeze too. Just open the clothespins to release the pom poms and throw them in the trash. No need to wash paint brushes or you child.

Now sit back and admire your child's work. While your at it, pat yourself on the back because you were a great mom to put this together!

Ozeri Green Earth Pan {Review}

Ozeri Green Earth Pan {Review}
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Ozeri Green Earth Pan for free, in exchange for my honestly review on the blog today. And truth be told, I was impressed!
Ozeri Green Earth Pan {Review}
The Green Earth pan is one of the FIRST frying pans in the world that has a non-stick coating that is free of harmful chemicals. And if you didn't know {now you know} non-stick cookware has a coating of PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene). At the high temperatures in which we cook, the PTFE coating decomposes and releases fumes that are harmful to our bodies. The GREBLON ceramic in the Green Earth pan, never releases toxic fumes. In fact, the ceramic coating contains no heavy metals or chemicals.
Ozeri Green Earth Pan {Review}

So here is what I loved about the pan:

- No funky chemicals, which makes a less worried mama. In the long run, this is a better option for us.

- I don't need as much oil as I normally do with other pans. In fact, I only needed a little bit of coconut oil to create a very thin film of oil and had no problems of anything sticking. Downfall is you can't use the stuff in the can but that stuff isn't good for you anyways. The manufacturer also claims that it is scratch resistant, which is a huge plus.

- I noticed that I didn't need the heat as high as I normally do. The instruction guide that this pan came with, says the Green Earth pan is a better conductor of heat than traditional pans and causes food to cook faster. Faster cooking=happier family come dinner time.

- The instructions also said I could stick it in the oven, as it's oven safe up to 356f.

- I loved how the coating even covered the screws to the handle. On other frying pans I have had, the screws weren't covered & that's where the food always got stuck. In fact, there has been times I had to get out a toothpick out to clean them and with this frying pan, I don't have to worry about that.

- The pan is sturdy and deep. Even though the size I received seemed small, I still was able to cook whatever I wanted in it and had plenty of room. I received the 10" pan but there is also an 8" & 12" size you can purchase.

- I really liked the green color of the pan. I'm a sucker for colored pots & pans, so this caught my eye.

- It was really easy to clean since nothing stuck to the pan. {Not even the cheese from my eggs stuck} HOWEVER, the instructions say it's dishwasher safe but not recommended. This puts a damper on the girl who hates doing dishes.

Overall, I loved the pan. I have used it a few times after these pictures were taken and I haven't had any problems with it. The only thing I would really change, however, is the fact that it would come with a lid. I tend to cook some messy meals sometimes or just need a cover to keep it warm. But if I dug through my cabinets, I'm sure I could find a lid from one of my old pans and use it on this one.

I will definitely be investing in a few more and getting rid of my toxic old ones.

If you would like to order your own, you can order one at Amazon.com

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
